Navarra proposes an educational program for children from zero to six years with "children's erotic games", a very controversial teaching tool

The 'Skolae' program, which the Government of Navarra wants to implement in its educational centers, seeks "the prevention of violence against women and girls and respect for identities, cultures, sexualities and their diversity".

But since its birth it is arousing multiple criticisms, although the greatest controversy arises around the section on how to address sexuality among students aged 0 to 6, where "children's erotic games" are proposed as a teaching tool.

The polemic section

The 'Skolae: Growing in equality' program is a coeducation plan (2017/2021) that aims to develop in students the competence to learn to live in equality.

It has an itinerary that goes from 0-3 years to high school, with defined axes:

  • Responsibility in the face of inequality.

  • Autonomy, care and personal independence.

  • Leadership, empowerment and social participation.

  • Sexuality and good treatment.

The 2017/2018 course was the pilot phase, in which 16 centers from all stages participated. By 2021, it is expected that all Navarre centers will already be immersed in the plan.

As the newspaper Navarra explains

"The launch of this program has already aroused a multitude of complaints from parents who believe that nationalism wants to mold children in Navarra based on their own beliefs"

And it is added that:

"There are multiple sexualities, understanding that sexual identity is a social construction, in which some can be identified as binary, non-binary or none and that these canons or models are an imposition of aesthetic guidelines that become forms of violence."

It also collects that:

"Romantic love is an idealized bourgeois reconstruction that favors abusive behavior."

But the main criticism of the program focuses on the part where the work itineraries and the skills to be developed are explained:

  • It is intended to explain to children from zero to six years the "multiple sexual identities".

  • Schools will be required to have no images of stereotyped professions in the classroom and a critical analysis of female sexualization will be made. And to achieve this it is intended that children under zero to six years have "sexual experiences through children's erotic games".

And it is that last point, which has aroused the great controversy. In addition, the critical sector with this educational program has found in the statements to the Cadena Ser de María Solana, Navarra Minister of Education, a new reason to fan the fire.

He recognized the content of the program, but insisted that "In no case is it collected that they will have experiences through children's erotic games".

María Sola tried to justify point two of the social field, on page 68 of the program, ensuring that it is "of the traditional games of dads and moms, when talking about children's erotic games".

"I don't know what you want to see, if you want to imply that this department is proposing to organize orgies in nursery schools", explained the Navarra counselor.

And we also don't understand very well what the Skolae program intends with the inclusion of this "teaching practice" nor the explanations of the Minister of Education.

But leaving aside the political battles, which we do not have to fight, the only really important thing is that children receive a good education, in all areas. And of course, also in sexuality, always according to their age.

And please, that they correct this paragraph of the program, since we assume that it is a wording of erroneous content, because nobody in their right mind can think that erotic games were going to be carried out in the classrooms.
