The research has been conducted by scientists at the University of Washington School of Medicine and published in the journal Journal of the National Cancer Institute if you drink before the first pregnancy, the probability of having breast cancer increases by 34% compared to those women who choose non-alcoholic drinks.

It had already been found in previous studies that a woman's breast tissue is especially susceptible to carcinogens between the first menstruation and her first pregnancy.

Now, the new study, when analyzing the data of more than 91,000 women between 15 and 40 years found a relationship between alcohol consumption and the risk of developing breast cancer and benign breast disease (BBD).

They also found that the more alcohol a woman drinks during that time, the greater the likelihood of developing breast cancer. Drinking 10 grams of alcohol a day was linked to an 11% increased risk of cancer, while women who drank at least 15 grams a day of alcohol (approximately two units or half a glass of wine) his risk was 34%.

It is especially important that young women moderate alcohol consumption before the first pregnancy, since it is not only harmful to the mother and the fetus during pregnancy, but also has an impact on the health of the woman in the long term.
