Pool exercise during pregnancy: tips

Having seen how the pool is a great alidade of the pregnant woman, we are going to comment on the most important points to consider when exercising in the pool during pregnancy.

Undoubtedly the pool can be a source of relaxation, well-being and also become the ideal means to exercise (which will result in the above), but we want to do it safely during pregnancy.

We have already talked about what are the guidelines to follow so that the exercise during pregnancy is healthy, and there are certain common basic rules.

First, it is necessary to make sure that our pregnancy is not risky, and if we have not yet gone to the gynecologist, moderate the practice of exercise and wait for the first consultation until it is confirmed that there is no contraindication.

If we did not exercise before, we will wait to start it as directed by the specialist, very little by little. In any case, even in this case, swimming is a low-risk and low-impact sport that can be started at any time (for other exercises it is better to wait).

For physical activity it is necessary to take into account certain guidelines that make it a safe practice. Do not perform it with too much heat or cold, protect yourself from the sun (this is especially important in outdoor pools), stay well hydrated, do not "force the machine", stop at the slightest sign of fatigue ... are the basic pillars.

Especially important is hydration (drinking plenty of fluids) and not exercising hungry, because at this stage it is better to take a light healthy snack than to go hungry and make the next meal with excess.

On the other hand, after a copious meal it is also not good to perform the exercise, so it is best around lunch or snack time, once certain time of the most important meals of the day has passed.

The warm-up is important before starting any exercise, therefore we can do some stretching before throwing ourselves into the water (or performing them already in the water), a walk at a good pace ... Above all we must try not to start doing intense exercise from scratch .

In addition, the pregnant woman must wear watch out for slips when moving around the pool (especially in the third quarter which is when we least established we have the balance due to the large increase in gut volume).

Of course, we will leave the acrobatic jumps or trampolines for another time, and we will go down to the water sitting from the edge or by the stairs, always looking for our safety and that of the baby.

A proper hygiene in the shower After exercising in the pool you will avoid risks of allergies or other skin conditions or the risk of urine infections.

If we keep the skin hydrated after the bath we will avoid the dry skin that sometimes the products of the pool can cause (and most importantly, some allergy), and also attention to hair care.

If we have a mild condition, it can surely improve with the practice of exercise in the pool: the ideal is to ask the experts to advise us of a specific exercise.

In short, the pool is a great ally of the pregnant woman and more in summer when it is difficult to do another exercise without suffering the rigors of heat. We just have to follow the safety tips and get fit to be healthier during pregnancy.
