Making bread is a fun experience and you will be surprised at how easy it is. Although the children are very young, they will enjoy participating in the kneading as with the stretching of the dough so we are sure you will have a great time. And then, everyone to eat homemade bread.

Ingredients for 4 small bars

  • 325 gr of force flour, 180 ml of warm water, 15 gr of baker's yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt

How to make simple bread with the kids

While the little ones are preparing with an apron, we undo the yeast in the water. In a bowl, we place the flour and we add the water with the yeast, mixing without worrying too much until more or less we have a ball of dough. Then, add the salt and continue mixing for a while, still in the bowl.

On the countertop or work table, sprinkle with abundant flour and dump the dough ball to start working with it. In this homework children can participate and have fun. The process is fairly simple.

We stretch the dough, folding it on itself and kneading again. Once we have the dough more or less worked after about 10 minutes of fighting, we form a ball and let the dough rest for an hour inside the bowl and covered with a cloth.

After rest, the dough will have increased considerably in size, fruit of the work of yeast. Next, we give a short kneading by hand to the dough ball and divide it into 4 portions. The kids can help us stretch them with the roller.

After we roll each one of them forming the bars, which we will allow to rest for half an hour already placed in the oven tray. When they have again increased in size, we give them some cuts and bake at 220º for approximately 30 minutes. While the bread dough is in the oven, it will be a good time to take the baker's helpers to the bathtub because they can end up something floured.

We will know that they are at their point when they have a beautiful golden color. Is important that we let the bread cool totally before eating it because although it seems that it is ready, the bread has to finish cooking inside. Afterwards, they will surely remember the experience as a great moment they have shared with you in the kitchen.
