The boys and girls of El Cuarto Hocico have it clear: if the dogs that accompany our days and those of our children, yes, those that live in our house and give us affection and company without asking for anything in return ... if we considered them 'of the family', instead of pets, there would not be so many dropouts.
A study by the Affinity Foundation reveals that Spain is one of the countries of the European Union with higher rate of abandonment of pets. During 2010, 145,000 dogs and cats saw their luck change, for the worse. This abandonment is not seasonal, although in summer, and more now with the crisis, the number of pets that are abandoned increases. The video you will see below is very simple and transmits a single message 'do not abandon your friend'.
There is not much more to say, except that the abandonment of companion animals is a behavior of extreme cruelty that says very little in favor of the person who performs it. I guess the families that leave the animals to their fate don't think to think how will a creature that trusted them fully feel.
But it's not just about emotions, but about drifting the safety of a dog or cat that does not know how to 'manage' it alone, and of being really irresponsible, considering that the animal that roams the road, can cause a traffic accident.
