In France they are teaching how to use Twitter at school

The video that illustrates the article lasts three minutes and is followed very enjoyable. Show a French children group using Twitter at their school in a safe environment and with a lot of teacher involvement. This is a class in Siarrouy, in the southwest of France.

They are five year olds that before they learn to read and write they use Twitter to communicate within the classroom. In my opinion, they don't know how to read and write, they leave the attempt a bit wasted, basically because the children don't understand what they are doing. In any case it is an exercise that puts them in context with the use of the computer, technology, without fear and with a playful aspect that when they are older they will quickly recognize and associate.

Basically the teacher writes the message that the children will send to the digital board. It is the children themselves who are familiar with the use of the keyboard and the computer. And above all they understand the process. That may be the most important part of the exercise, which Children learn a tremendously complex process in a very simple way and also at a very young age.

In the video they explain that the class's Twitter account is managed and that it is not accessible to anyone. They also use it to communicate with Canadian students from a school in the city of Calgary, that's why the communication process is as interesting as exercise. Because they also learn to speak and write and eventually they will succeed.

The video ends with a bit of publicity from a private school in Geneva where they have started using tablets. Maybe when the video was filmed it was a pioneer experience although I think it is already surpassed. In any case, the images are very illustrative of how you can learn in class with tools, properly adapted on the tablets, for teachers to manage and make decisions about their students from their site. Although I also believe that this way of working is overcome with models such as the one proposed by Salman Khan and his academy in which going to class is transformed by giving priority to practical acting and less learning through memory.

And in the meantime in Spain, how do we do it to get our children to develop their capacity and be able to compete with these European neighbors?
