Children's advertising hooks, a bad practice

To capture the attention of children, companies use by way of children's advertising hooks everything that attracts them especially, gift promotions of video game consoles, famous people from the cartoon or movie series such as Shrek, free tickets to amusement parks, etc.

It is not something harmful until these advertising claims are associated with those products rich in fats and sugars that are not recommended as part of a healthy and balanced diet.

This situation echoes the Spanish Confederation of Housewives, Consumers and Users and asks the Ministry of Health more rigorous control in this type of ads. Many containers of food that are advertised are a street advertisement, the package has been transformed being basically an advertisement within the reach of the little ones. Also the product itself, whether cookies, cereals, etc., emulates the character in question making the food more attractive to the child.

That they do it with healthy and natural products, that try to capture the attention of the small ones and orient them towards an adequate diet, but not that this type of publicity is used precisely with the foods that favor the overweight and the obesity. We totally agree that it is necessary to regulate this type of harmful ad-product relationship more sharply.

There are many fronts that must be tackled and perhaps little will, today's little ones are tomorrow's consumers, taking care of them now is guaranteeing their health in the future and the continuity of the company.
