Epistaxis or nosebleed

Colds and flu also come with cold, and as a consequence, on more than one occasion, we use nasal vaporizers to relieve congestion. Excessive use of this product is one of the factors that can cause epistaxis or nosebleed.

There are children who suffer from nosebleeds more easily than others, usually disappear spontaneously or resolve with simple measures, but we must try to prevent them by ensuring that the child does not scratch the nose often, that it does not remain in excessively dry or cold environments, etc. .

In the event of a nosebleed, the ideal thing is to sit it in a chair and have it flex the head forward (never backwards, because the only thing that is achieved is for the child to swallow the blood) and press it on the nostril as a gripper. We must keep it that way for 10 to 15 minutes and repeat, if the bleeding has not stopped, once again. You can also put a gauze as a plug so that it absorbs the blood that is coming out. If it still does not remit, the child should be visited by the ENT to rule out a foreign body or a blood clotting problem.

It is very important, if your child has a nosebleed, keep calm, because the child will calm down and the bleeding will stop more easily.
