In case you still do not see it: Pink Light, a light warns if there is a pregnant woman who needs a seat

It is clear that a pregnant woman is not a sick one, but there are times when it is very good for you to be given a seat, especially if you go on a public transport that is full, which can make you lose your balance ... And yet, it is usual that the rest of passengers do not notice this and many pregnant women, who could go much more comfortable and safe sitting, have to go balancing in the subway, train, bus ... because there is no free seat.

Against this fact several campaigns have been launched in recent times and now the technology adds to the attempt that no pregnant woman is left without her seat. In the city of Busan, in South Korea, A pink light will warn passengers when a pregnant woman who needs a seat gets on the trains equipped with this device.

It is a bluetooth system that alerts users of the subway train to give their seats to pregnant travelers, so far 500 women who have sensors that activate the pink lights next to the seats reserved in the service have been tested Busan-Gimhae train.

The good thing about this method is that, who does not want to take it (for not attracting attention, because he prefers to stand up, because he prefers to talk to those who occupy his position improperly ... for whatever reason) does not have to. The sensors have a battery of six months, we assume that it has even been given birth (taking into account that seat sensors will not be necessary at the beginning of pregnancy).

Pink Light is a campaign launched by the city council and local businesses and shows the lack of awareness of most citizens regarding reserved seats (and not only for pregnant women but for people with mobility problems ...) . In this way, there is a "touch of attention" that is still necessary, although we weigh, facilitating these people the use of public transport and their day to day.

Sometimes, it is also possible that a passenger, for fear of offending, does not offer his seat, so that the Pink Light system solves this inconvenience, since if the light comes on it is that there is someone who really wants to sit.

In other places, such as in the United Kingdom or Milan, some pregnant women use badges or badges to highlight that they expect a baby and would not mind sitting on the train, subway, bus ...

And it is that somehow these women have to be noticed, invisible to many. Thus, the Pink Light campaign by which a light warns on public transport if there is a pregnant woman who wants to sit, it is having a good reception and transport users are being encouraged to know this performance. Will the time come when you don't need lights or badges to be a little more civic?
