What if the children were the ones who chose their parents?

The video is part of an organization's campaign Fragile childhood to promote responsible use of alcohol in adults and prevent abuse.

An orphanage is a place where we can find the last hope for those children who have lost their parents, a place where they can find love again. But what if there was an adult orphanage? What if the children were the ones who chose their parents?

Many times we do not realize the closest to us, our children and the example we are giving them with many of our actions. We live in bad times and that means that in many cases we do not have enough patience or courage to realize that we are their example, that what they see us doing will be their first reference for the future and that in some situations, our way of acting can scare them and there is no greater fear than what the one you love and who you trust can cause you.

The organization Fragile childhood It seeks to initiate a debate about the influence that alcohol abuse has on children by adults.

Is it okay to drink in front of them? How much is acceptable? Have we lost control while being with them?

From their facebook they promote an open discussion on this topic in which people express themselves and tell their opinion about the relationship between alcohol and children. According to this organization, people do not know how much damage alcohol problems at home cause to children. It is estimated that one in four Finnish children has suffered some form of physical or psychological abuse by parents who have abused alcohol. And in a survey of children between 12 and 18 years showed that they prefer that their parents do not drink at home and that they are better for them when they are sober.

The campaign, as well as the organization is supported by Alko which is the grouping of alcoholic beverage manufacturers in Finland, as well as the National Institute of Health and Social Welfare of Finland, the Finland Parent Association and the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare and have been working since the 80s.
